You’re inside my head…
A friend of mine from high school was a producer on BANGKOK The Movie. It’s going to be showing at MethodFest on April 1st.
If you’ve picked up a copy of Digital Video Hacks, you can read a little about the great (portable and expendable) lighting kit he assembled while traveling around Asia shooting the movie — it’s on page 62.
I just posted this to del.icio.us, but I wanted to also create a quick post here about it, too. I think it’s a good list to refer to, especially when considering someone for your board. Will the person help fulfill these goals? Do you trust him/her to?
From Management Help – 10 points for a Board of Directors:
1. Determine the Organization’s Mission and Purpose
2. Select the Executive
3. Support the Executive and Review His or Her Performance
4. Ensure Effective Organizational Planning
5. Ensure Adequate Resources
6. Manage Resources Effectively
7. Determine and Monitor the Organization’s Programs and Services
8. Enhance the Organization’s Public Image
9. Serve as a Court of Appeal
10. Assess Its Own Performance
Whoever believes that you need to live in Hollywood, have an agent, make a deal with a major network, and drink double-tall-soy-peppermint-mocha-lattes to distribute a show on television is in for a big surprise.
Okay, so Microsoft has put up a videoblog at on10.net. In the videoblogging newsgroup there’s recently been a thread about it:
–
“It’s funny how they use Quicktime and there’s no M$ branding on the site, that’s really unmicrosoft like… I bet 10$ they’ll switch to WMV within 6 months… they must be far under the radar.”
Um, nope, we have support going all the way to the top of the company.
This is VERY visible inside Microsoft. I’ll try to get the other stuff fixed
that was brought up on this thread.

If Scoble is saying it’s going all the way to the top, I’m fairly confident that means Bill is aware of the project. Why Microsoft is looking to create content I’m not sure, but I’m going to guess that it’s because the distribution arm is being sought by Apple, Google, and Yahoo. A content play is a big, and very interesting, move in my opinion.
